TRAILER GREASE SEALS & OIL SEALS should be inspected frequently and replaced if they show signs of wear such as excess grease build up on the inside of wheel hub or trailer rim. Hub grease seals help prevent water and dirt from entering the hubs providing protection against bearing failure. Oil seals and grease seals have a single or double flexible lip that rubs against a shaft or housing to prevent lubricant leakage or the intrusion of water and dirt.
